FAQs

Do you offer in-person sessions?

Speech Essentials is located in Philadelphia. Speech Essentials is primarily focused on virtual services to provide therapy across the entire state of Pennsylvania and California. This also allows for clients all over the world to receive accent coaching. More clients can be seen when there is limited travel. Speech Essentials is able to offer in-person services to those who live in Rittenhouse (19103) which allows for minimal commute and parking.

Do you accept my insurance for Speech/Language therapy?

At this time, Speech Essentials does not accept insurance. Speech Essentials is private-pay, only. The specified amount per session is the only amount you will be owed. By not accepting insurance, I am able to provide services to anyone. Also, I do not have a restriction on how many sessions we can work together. I am able to provide a superbill, which allows you to potentially be reimbursed by your insurance company. It is not a guarantee that a provider will pay for services. I encourage families to call their insurance provider to determine coverage for speech therapy and ask if superbills are accepted. Accent modification is not covered by insurances and a Superbill cannot be generated for services.

How is this different than services provided in schools?

By going through a private-practice, you are not restricted to an Individualized Education Plan (IEP). You can be seen how often you would like to be seen, as long as both of our schedules allow it. We do not have to worry about scheduling meetings to discuss the plans. You will be given a progress report after every 6 sessions. This allows you to see your child’s progress. Based on the progress, we can continue with our treatment plan or make changes to your child’s goals. Best of all, these are all INDIVIDUAL sessions. Each session will be designed specifically for your child based on their interests and needs.

Should I continue to seek services through early intervention or school?

Yes! I would suggest doing this. It doesn’t hurt having more than one SLP. In fact, if you would like me to collaborate with another SLP, I am more than happy to do so for free!
